What is the best milk for your child?

After the child has been 12 months, what is the best milk? Breast milk is still a better choice, and full-fat milk is the second choice – but many Chinese tend to have children's formula. The safety of milk powder in China is a well-known problem, and many paediatricians and dietitians do not consider this to be the best option. Parents who are fascinated by hyped advertisements and false information can go directly to the child's doctor: What milk do you give your child? This is a great question: If my Alex is one year old, what milk will I give him? In fact, I am not sure what milk to give him, but I think I have the following options:

Local organic milk. There is a local certified organic milk (and the same brand of yoghurt) that many Beijingers and foreign settlers trust. I don't dare to be 100% sure of its security. Of course, my trust in it is the same as my trust in other things here. I know that my statement is somewhat unsatisfactory. I can only say that this choice is better than nothing.
Import UHT milk. China can now buy this kind of imported UHT milk in many places, and it has become the first choice of many people. I personally don't like their tastes very much. I really oppose the environmental impact caused by transportation costs. Also, they are mostly affordable and easy to store, so it is quite convenient.
Enhanced soy milk. I prefer the taste of soy milk compared to milk, and it is extremely simple to make soy milk myself. Pure homemade soy milk without milk has a high calcium content, so your child may need to strengthen the soy. Some imported brands are already available in some places in China, especially in hypermarkets. Don't forget that there are other bean products, such as tofu, which is also good food for calcium supplementation.
Other milk products? There is a lot of imported milk made from rice and almonds in our supermarket. Many people like goat milk, including formula goat milk. Maybe these are possible alternatives, but I personally don't like too many attempts, preferring only to use the paediatrician's recommendation.

Milk is rich in calcium and fat, but many other health foods also offer these elements, including:

Yoghurt and cheese. I insist on drinking yoghurt for anyone of any age, not only because it is easier to digest for Asian stomachs. Yoghurt is rich in many healthy bacteria called probiotics. More and more research shows that bacteria are good for whole-body health, including reducing the risk of obesity. Homemade yoghurt is also very simple. Another alternative is cheese slices, which are rich in calcium and protein, fat, cholesterol and iron.
Canned fatty fish. Salmon and sardines are rich in calcium and OMEGA3, an important component of brain development. Canned more convenient and chew fish bones!
Leafy green vegetables. Broccoli, kale, and dark, leafy green vegetables are also very good sources of calcium. But absorption efficiency is key: spinach is rich in calcium but rarely absorbed, so it is not the best choice.
Strengthen calcium food. Many boxed orange juices are supplemented with calcium, which helps to avoid the fact that many children don't like milk and prefer juices to this calcium supplement. Many grains also add calcium.
Various vitamins. In the final method, children's vitamin tablets provide all the vitamins and minerals needed for a full range of nutrients. If your child is very picky eaters, this is a good idea. For example, only 10% of teenage girls have absorbed enough calcium!
